The 2026 Civic Sedan will likely keep the two main powertrain options from the previous model year.
The standard petrol version uses a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower and 133 pound-feet of torque. It comes with a continuously variable transmission and is designed for smooth everyday driving rather than fast acceleration.
Hybrid trims combine a 2.0-liter engine with Honda’s two-motor hybrid system, making about 200 horsepower in total. This setup gives stronger acceleration than the base engine and delivers smooth, steady power. The hybrid feels quicker and more responsive, especially in city traffic and when merging onto highways.
The steering is precise and balanced, and the suspension provides a smooth ride with little body roll. Compared to other compact sedans, it still offers one of the most enjoyable drives while maintaining comfort.
