About the Kia Telluride

The Kia Telluride debuted in 2020 to compete with three-row SUVs like the Honda Pilot, Subaru Ascent, and Toyota Highlander. The Telluride, on the other hand, quickly went to the top of the charts instead of competing. It’s known for its beautiful exterior, open interior, and ample storage. It’s also fun to drive. The Telluride has been the best SUV in its class for five years in a row, and we have a hard time suggesting another one because it is so well-made.

The Telluride’s interior has always had about the same quality as the inside of a car that costs double. We’ve always been sure that it will last because the materials are great, and the building is solid. Drivers have always received the best of both worlds inside the Telluride, and that’s not even counting the many technological features that make the experience better.

What’s new for 2027

Kia decided to take a gap year and focus on what drivers really want. In 2027, Kia decided to redesign the fairly new Kia Telluride as an attempt to keep it’s place as a top contender. The new design features a larger body, longer wheelbase, and a modern aesthetic to an SUV that was already the top of its class.

What's New?

In short, almost everything is new. The 2027 Kia Telluride arrives with an all-new exterior and a drivetrain ready for everyday situations. Inside features dual 12.3-inch displays with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to modernize the cabin for drivers and passengers. Fuel efficiency sees a massive improvement due to the 2.5L engine. It’s estimated to deliver a combined 35 MPG, according to Kia, compared to the previous V6.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The 2027 Kia Telluride features a redesigned infotainment system with dual 12.3” displays. This is the first year to feature wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing you to leave the cables behind. Its simple layout allows you quick access to everything you need, such as navigation, audio controls, and car settings. Our favorite part is that, unlike some of its competitors, Kia kept physical controls for volume, climate, and more. Giving drivers proper physical feedback when changing between the dials and buttons. Options to upgrade the audio system are available. The new Tellurides experience finds a nice blend between modern tech and everyday use.

Engine and Performance

The 2027 Kia Telluride gets an updated powertrain focused on capability and fuel economy. Ditching the V6 that has come with the Telluride since 2020, the 2027 model offers an all-new 2.5L turbo or turbo-hybrid option. This change has massively improved fuel economy to an estimated combined 35 MPG. Optional all-wheel drive lets drivers handle both on- and off-road conditions. The suspension tuning prioritizes comfort without sacrificing safety.

Safety Features

Many driver-assistance features come standard on the 2027 Kia Telluride. The standard advanced systems already featured in the model lineup are automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and better adaptive cruise control and lane-assist in higher-level trims. New safety features for 2027 include:

Front-row center airbags join the expanded set of 10 standard airbags to provide better protection for everyone inside the car.
In-cabin radar improves the rear-occupant alert system to prevent leaving anyone behind.
Safe Exit Earning and Safe Exit Assist help alert anyone inside the Telluride to approaching vehicles as they exit.

Cargo and Towing Capacity

The 2027 Kia Telluride has 22.3 cubic feet of storage behind the third row. Fold the third row and that expands to 46.3 cubic feet. That can increase to an impressive 86.9 cubic feet with both the second and third row folded down. The non-hybrid model can tow up to 5,000 pounds. The hybrid model is slightly lower at around 4,500 pounds.

Price and How to Choose

The 2027 Kia Telluride matches the price of its third-row competitors at just north of $40,000. As you expand trims, features, and optional packages, the price increases into the upper $50,000 range. The trim level and options give you a ton of flexibility in price for what you need. Get a safe, comfortable, family-friendly SUV at a competitive price or ride in luxury with premium options without the premium price tag.
